About Seadogs Live
It's not every season that Scarborough fans can claim to have something in common with those of Manchester United - or more specifically,
fans of FC United of Manchester.
Back in October 2008, officials and volunteers of Scarborough Athletic FC headed to Gigg Lane, Bury on a fact-finding mission. FC United were playing Ilkeston Town, and although the football itself was exciting, the Boro contingent's aim was the have a look at FC's radio and highlights broadcasting (www.fcum.tv), to see if a similar system could be implemented at Scarborough Athletic.
The answer was a resounding yes, and just days later, the first broadcast of SeadogsLive took place, at the home game against Teversal.
Since then, improvements to the service have been made, with a manager - Shaun Burke - being recruited to oversee the running of the service
and fundraising to keep the service free of charge and for use of all Boro fans.
The service continues to expand and grow thanks to generous donations from local businesses and others, and a bonus ball
scheme has been set-up to bring in funding.
For further details of the service please contact Shaun Burke on seadogs2008@live.co.uk
Is there a fee?
No, SeadogsLive is a completely free service which is not-for-profit, and exclusively owned and run by Scarborough Athletic FC, for Boro fans everywhere.
Despite being free, the service does rely on donations and fundraising to improve and to pay running costs. So if you are to make use of the service please consider donating, thereby helping the development of the service.
What is to come?
The club hopes to expand the service over the coming months and years, with interviews, pod-casts, magazine shows and in the future match highlights.
This is all dependant on what is raised in terms of funding in order to purchase further equipment.
